KDHN is a full-service radio station serving 100 miles of the Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico with Ag programming throughout the day Monday – Friday, a local morning show, Texas Rangers Baseball, and Hart high school sports in addition to live coverage of community events.
Todd and Nancy Whalen are the current owners of KDHN and while Todd’s career in radio spans over four decades Nancy transitioned from first grade teacher to Program director, Music director, traffic director, and on-air personality alongside Todd in 2015. Radio is a unique business that is as challenging as it is rewarding.
Todd Whalen’s radio career as a Farm Broadcaster has its roots in Iowa where he grew up working on the family farm. Todd’s Farm Broadcasting career began in Plainview, Texas when he landed his first job in 1983 broadcasting on KVOP 1400 am and KATX 97.3 fm. From Plainview he moved up to Amarillo when he was hired by KGNC Ag director Bob Givens. Todd’s experience working with renowned Farm Broadcaster Bob Givens has proven invaluable in his Farm Broadcasting career. In addition to working in Texas Todd’s broadcasting career has taken him to Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Michigan.
